Fine Art Digital Printmaking
In this workshop you get the chance to see, feel, and experiment printing on a variety of paper media. You’ll learn what makes a great print, how to evaluate your own images and select the best media to express your vision. To begin, you’ll learn the differences between hard and soft paper by studying the qualities of different paper types. This workshop will review file-types, resolution, and color management to ensure you are starting with the best images possible in-camera, then walk you through device calibration and saving profiles. You’ll learn a refined management & processing workflow that starts with rating media in Adobe Bridge, importing & processing in Lightroom, then finalizing for print Photoshop. You’ll learn how to customize your workspace, create and save custom presets, advanced color/black & white adjustments, retouching, adjustment layers/masks and split toning to stylize your images.
You’ll learn how to soft-proof for different media, export for the web, and print from Lightroom, Photoshop & Mirage. Once printed, you’ll learn how to examine your prints, tweak your adjustments, and troubleshoot if not printing correctly
