You Can Donate Your Old Camera Gear to Help Children learn photography

P1130289-2Looking to put your old gear to work? We can use all kinds of used equipment for our youth program, and we will make sure that your contribution is put to good use.

Designed to develop visual literacy through photography our New Youth program support the development of observational, reasoning, language-arts, and image-creation competencies.

Our program uses the photographic medium as a vehicle for self-expression and an understanding of photography’s role in documenting history and culture.

DSC_2588To donate used (and new) working cameras, lenses, and accessories to help the new Youth program we are developing, all you have to do is let us know what gears you have, put everything in a box and we will send you a FedEx or USPS label to ship it to us.

Singles Competition

Each year MSPF showcases the best contemporary street photography in the world selected by the most qualified jury panel in street photography today in a two tier system.

In the first round of the competition, all submissions will be judged in a blind juried process by a panel of internationally accomplished street photographers, all active members of street photography collectives, who will be selecting up to one hundred images as this year’s MSPF Finalists. All selected finalists will be exhibited at HistoryMiami Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate, in downtown Miami and will be the highlight of the Miami Street Photography Festival which is held during Art Basel Week, December 6th to 9th, 2018. Art Basel Miami is one of the world’s premier art events attracting a large international audience of art spectators, collectors, curators and gallery owners.

In the second round of voting the featured 2018 MSPF featured speakers, all world-renowned photographers, will select the top three winners from among all MSPF finalists who will receive the 2018 MSPF Awards as First, Second and Third Place in the international competition. NEW! 2018 MSPF
International Series Contest

This year MSPF is launching our first ever international series contest. Participants are required to submit a series of 3-7 images that form a cohesive body of work in the street/documentary genre. The series can reflect a specific photography project about a topic, place or people or it can be a group of photographs that have a visual theme that ties them together.
Participants can submit an unlimited number of series, each containing 3-7 images. Images submitted in each series will be judged as a whole. Images may have been taken anywhere in the world.
The top three series, determined by a very experienced group of judges, will be exhibited in Miami during Art Basel, one of the top art events in the world. The winning series will also be exhibited at Street Photo Milano, in Milan Italy.

2018 MSPF Miami Series Contest

The Miami Photo Series is a MSPF competition that celebrates its home city of Miami. Open to all levels of photography, the contest calls for your best images dedicated to documenting life in Miami.
Participants are required to submit a series of images exploring a theme inspired by the Magic City. A team of award winning photographers, will select the top three series, which will be displayed at HistoryMiami from December 2018 to January, 2019 including during Art Basel Week. The winner will be announced at the Festival.

• A cash prize of US $1,000.00
• Series published on the MSPF website gallery for one year
• An invitation to become part of HistoryMiami’s permanent photography collection
